Local legend John Lincoln wrote this in a letter to the Times Argus after attending the live recording:

Jazz, in its finest form, came roaring into the Christ Church Parish House on Saturday evening. The sold-out concert featured lovely ballads and up-tempo tunes from the 1930s to the present. ...Miss Mann was happily escorted through her selections by Elliot Burg on trumpet and flugelhorn; Chris Peterman on tenor sax and soprano sax on “Rainbow”; Geza Carr at the drums; John Rivers, laying down a path on string bass; Colin McCaffrey, well-known guitarist; and Tom Cleary, directing traffic and digging the whole scene over on the piano. These men brought their chops and Allison dug it. The arrangements were outstanding with jazz solos for all. Miss Mann’s intonation was always letter-perfect as she invented some of her own jazz lines. The AMJS is scheduled to present more jazz on Jan. 31 and March 28 — if we must wait, we will be grandly rewarded.
